Happy Monday everyone!
I wanted to start this week off with a recipe I’ve been wanting to share. With my vasculitis, I have learned a lot about healers that encourage healthy blood flow and vascular health.
In a flared up state, my muscles become tighter with movement and in turn, make it harder for my arteries to circulate blood. This is a time when I really like to get back into smoothies and incorporating my favorite circulatory healers! I like to pretend I’m on a nice hot beach, blood flowing, and abundance from the sun. I suggest integrating these healers into your other meals and smoothies as well 🙂 I hope they bring some relief and love to you too!
For this Recipe you will need:
1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries (Blueberries have been studied to show almost immediate change in vascular functions! And long term benefits when consumed regularly.)
5 Frozen Blackberries-(A powerful antioxidant and immune booster, blackberries are loaded with Vitamin K. This key vitamin aids in healthy blood and clotting for great circulation!)
1/2 Banana (We all need a little sweet, but bananas are loaded with blood pressure and heart health benefits!)
1/4 cup Pomegranate Juice (This juice can help reduce inflammation significantly, prevents thickening of the arteries, increase blood flow and protects the arteries and heart!)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 inch chunk of Ginger Root, finely chopped (Ginger helps alleviate inflammation and therefor improve circulation!)
1 small scoop (1 tsp.) of Spirulina-(Improves cardiac functions, and reduces complications with vascular disease, great for me!)
A couple of ice cubes
Add all these healers to your blender:
