A healing and helpful Green Smoothie

I whipped up this recipe last night and then meditated. I had the best restorative sleep in a long time! This is definitely a more day time smoothie but it encourages the body to do what it needs to get balanced. Two ingredients I have been adding to my daily smoothies I’d like to share some gratitude for are Spirulina and Maca Powder. These are great for anyone trying to transition into a more natural healing routine.

These are great for vegetarians or vegans who need their daily dose of protein.

Spirulina is an algae (yep !) containing many important vitamins like A, K, B-12 (brain health, sleep improvement), Iron, Magnesium, and chromium.  Did I mention its a powerful antioxidant?! Spirulina is one of the best plant proteins there is.

Maca Powder also contains plant protein and contains nutrients like Iron, zinc, copper, potassium, and calcium! It also carries 8 essential amino acids, Vitamin B-1, 2, C, and E. This super food helps balance hormone levels naturally while helping fertility levels for both men and women. Maca improves mood, memory, and increases energy levels.

I have been taking both of these for a solid month and the benefits have been so humbling. I have so much energy throughout the day and they keep me active as well as healthy. My mind seems to be more clear and my self love is in a beautiful place.

My vasculitis always tended to have the hardest time during winter, but I’ve been standing strong and enjoying some winter hikes even! No sign of Takayasus here!

For my smoothies, I often buy a good amount of organic fruit from the market and freeze it so I have an assortment to choose from. This is such an easy way to keep fruit from going to waste and it’s fun to change it up every day!

This smoothie doesn’t just contain beautiful healers, it tastes like vacation 🙂

Green Healing Smoothie

Small handful of Kale

1/2 banana and enjoy the rest 😉

1/2 cup carrot juice

1/2 cup water

3/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

1 inch piece of ginger root, diced

3 Whole Strawberries, no stems 😉

1/4 cup delicious pineapple

3 Slices of Peaches

1 slightly healing teaspoon of Spirulina Powder

1 slightly healing teaspoon of Maca Powder

Blend and Enjoy!
